Why Not Give Him A REAL Sauna?

June 24, 2008

I’ve written about giving your man a sauna before, I love saunas so that’s just a gift that I’d love. Now of course most people wouldn’t actually buy him a real sauna for a gift, but they’d get a bunch of sauna visits for example. Maybe 10 visits down at the local gym.

However I do think that a real sauna is also a great gift for him as well, though obviously more expensive. You have a number of choices for buying saunas, and if you’re canny you can buy quite a cheap sauna online.

The cheapest saunas are infrared saunas, particularly portable infrared saunas. They are small and can be moved around so if as they are lightweight and portable they’re cheaper.

So if you love the sauna and your man does too then why not buy him a full blown sauna? Go on, lash out. There are places to buy cheap saunas, I’ve been looking at one cheap sauna store which has listings from eBay, and I couldn’t believe that some saunas were so cheap. Brand new too.

So don’t just think about buying him a series of 10 visits to the sauna, consider buying him a real sauna, there are cheap saunas around and at less than you’d think, depending on what you buy. And of course if you buy one big enough for the 2 of you then you can use it just like him, or with him. A great opportunity to spend some quality time together.

Golfing Gifts For Golfing Travelling Men

June 19, 2008

Does your man love to play golf and to travel? Golf is about the most popular sport on the planet now, and golfing holidays are extremely popular too.

But there is one problem with a golfing holiday, how does he get his golf clubs to where he wants to go? Golf clubs are by their nature big and heavy, and difficult to transport. They rattle and bang together and can be prone to damage, and a new set is pretty expensive.

So perhaps there’s a great idea there for a gift for your travelling golfing man. A golf travel case.

A golf travel case is a case for his golf clubs that protects them from damage no matter how roughly they are handled. A good golf travel bag will allow him to pack his clubsm and often quite a lot of his other golfing equipmentm like his golf shoes, and have it securely padded and locked and away from the prying eyes of people who might be tempted to steal something from his golf bag, like all his golf balls.

Travel with golf clubs, particularly air travel with golf clubs, can be a headache that can be relieved by the use of a good golf travel case, and that’s why golf professionals use them, and why they might make a good golf gift from you, to him.

You can get soft golfing travel cases, and hard travel cases. For airline travel he needs a hard golf travel bag, it offers the maximum of protection to his vulnerable golf clubs. Read more »

Need A Great Gift For A Man Who Lives Like A Caveman?

June 7, 2008

I’ve been inspired to write this by a friend of mine. His girlfriend asked me if I had any great gift ideas for his birthday.

Well when you look at his house (he’s a bachelor) you’re struck by how many gifts you could think of, just by looking at how he lives. His house is - well - politely, a little ordinary.

It needs to be livened up. It’s not that it’s a hovel, it’s just old, and needs to be brightened up. The walls need painting to a better color than the dirty color they are now, I think it’s cream. And the carpet has seen better days.

What did I suggest to her? An area rug. The carpet is really tired and lacks color. A great area rug will hide those stains and wear marks in the carpet and add color and style to the room. Of course it will take more than one rug to lift the whole house, it would take a complete overhaul. But one colorful stylish rug right in the middle of the room will do wonders.

I love area rugs and the way they lift the room, any room. Or perhaps a runner rug for a hallway. Or perhaps a round rug for under the table. Read more »

Does Your Man Love Golf? Stuck For A Golf Gift? Why Not Custom Logo Goilf Balls?

June 5, 2008

Is your man a golf lover? Does he have everything you could ever imagine for golfing? Do you need a good golf gift idea for him? Why not custom logo golf balls?

What in the world are custom logo golf balls and why do they make a fine gift idea for a man (or woman)?

It’s perfectly possible with the use of modern technology to print on golf balls. Print text, print a photo, print a corporate logo, anything you want, as long as it fits. And there are now a range of companies that offer you the option of buying your own custom logo golf balls.

There are many uses for logo golf balls and if you’re an enthusiastic golfer you’ve probably already seen some of them. For example corporate logo golf balls, where a corporation puts it’s own logo on a golf ball, are big business. They are used for corporate promotion at, say, trade shows or seminars where they are given away as corporate promotions. They are cheap and keep the corporate logo right in front of anyone who loves their golf and uses these logo golf balls when they play.

But logo golf balls can also make a fine gift idea. You can get photo golf balls for example, where a small photo is printed on a golf ball.

Think it would be a nice idea to give him a gift of a set of golf balls with your photo on them? No matter how many golf gadgets he already has he won’t have golf balls with your photo on them will he?

Or perhaps a photo of his favorite dog? Or anything. With custom logo golf balls you can print anything you want on the golf ball as long as it fits.

And why not add a message from you? You can print a photo on one side and a message on the other. Can you think of a short sweet message to him you could put on the golf balls? Read more »

Why Not Treat Him To A Sauna? An Infrared Sauna That Won’t Leave Him Gasping.

June 4, 2008

I like saunas, sometimes. They are relaxing, it makes you slow down. Only problem is that regular saunas can be a little too hot for my liking.

Sometimes it’s fine. If the temperature is a little lower than normal and noone has poured any water on the hot rocks then it isn’t so hot and steamy.

Yes I know, a sauna is supposed to be hot and steamy isn’t it? Well yes, but there are limits. Beyond a certain time I start to gasp. My wife, on the other hand,  loves it as hot as it can get.

Maybe it’s a boy/girl thing. I know that in many cases men seem to feel the heat much more than women. In summer on a hot day I’m dying while my wife is out there sitting in the sun. Maybe men feel the heat much more than women. I don’t know, but I do know she revels in the sauna while I gasp most of the time.

And if you love a nice sauna but your man is a little like me and finds it too hot then there is an alternative. I’ve recently come across infrared saunas. A whatred sauna I hear you ask? An infrared sauna.

An infrared sauna is one which is heated by a different method than regular saunas. Regular saunas, or what is known as a Finnish or hot rock sauna, is one which works by means of heating the air, which is why I gasp.

An infra red sauna on the other hand, works by heating you the suana user, but not the air. How? By the use of infrared rays. You know infrared rays, that’s what heats you every time the sun comes out from behind the clouds. And as it heats by infrared rays it doesn’t make you gasp. It heats you, but not the air.

Infrared saunas can sometimes be known as FIR saunas. The FIR stands for far infra red, which is the wavelength of sunlight where the infared light it. Read more »

Should You Give Him A Perfume As A Gift?

June 3, 2008

That’s an interesting question isn’t it. Do men like fragrances, and would they like to be given a perfume as a gift?

Most men, I think it’s true to say, like fragrances, or perfumes, worn by their women. But would they like to wear a perfume themselves?

A lot of men do wear perfumes now, even if they’re not aware of it. What is an aftershave for example, but a perfume with another name? It’s just a masculine perfume, or smell.

And what about deodorants? They have a fragrance don’t they? So there are many men out there who wear a fragrance and aren’t bothered by it.

But what about giving a male perfume to him as a gift? Well that’s a little different I suppose. Because it’s a perfume, not an aftershave.

But I wear one from time to time, and like it. Read more »
